Our Melbourne Drama School has just celebrated the graduating class of our 2023 Teenage 12-Month Program! The teens have immersed themselves in a variety of classes throughout the year. The classes included: Scene Study, US Accent, Voice, Alexander Technique, Movement, and Auditioning. The students learned methods such as Meisner, Practical Aesthetics, Chubbuck, and Stanislavsky.

Their lessons involved a variety of teachers who all have professional experience in their disciplines. Teachers include Damian Walshe-Howling, Lyndelle Green, Tyler Coppin, Mark Hennessy, Leonardo Canales, Anne O’Keefe, and more. They also had Masterclasses with LA Casting Director, Caitlin Wells, and Filmmaker/Director, Anna Kokkinos.

Additionally, our Teenage 12-Month Program students have not only walked away with professional headshots but also professional showreels that will significantly help their careers. Our past students have used these materials to secure Australia-wide agency representation. Their families watched their showreels at the end-of-year showcase. This was such a beautiful night to celebrate their hard work and show their loved ones how far they have come.

It has been incredible to see the students grow in their acting craft and confidence. Due to the safe, nurturing, yet challenging environment, the students were able to take risks and make bold choices. In doing so they not only learned about the craft of acting but also about themselves, how to process their emotions, and how to express themselves fully.

We are immensely proud of our wonderful teenagers who have had incredible an incredible 2023. We are sad to see them go, however, they have the skills they need and will surely smash it!
